The updated 2016 IACC Green Star certification programme, exclusively available to IACC members has now been launched.
If you did not complete your green star certification in 2015, you can benefit from this valuable environmental initiative, by either subscribe for the first time or updating a past adherence to the Code. The 2016 Code of Sustainability should be completed no later than March 15, 2016.
By signing the Code of Sustainability, IACC members agree to support IACC’s Environmental Policy, to adopt the tenets of the code, and to join other members in an association-wide effort to continually strive for greater sustainability.
We encourage you to review and complete the code with your Green Committee, as well as to assess your progress on each practice: "In Place", "Planned","No Plans", or "N/A" (not applicable – requires explanation). Members must have the first three tenets of the 2016 Code of Sustainability in place in order to complete the survey. This means that the member has (1) an established, active Green Committee; (2) an Environmental Policy, and (3) a commitment to seek new and innovative conservation, reduction, reuse and recycling programmes that safeguard the environment.
We will update the Environmental Initiatives page on IACC Online by the end of March 2016 by removing the names of members that have not signed the updated survey and adding the names of members who have achieved status of Silver, Gold or Platinum. If you completed your last survey in early 2015, this remains valid until March 2017.
Members that want to use (or continue to use) the Green Star logo must complete the 2016 Code of Sustainability by March 15, 2016.
We all have an opportunity and responsibility to do what we can to protect the environment. Thank you in advance for your contribution to IACC championing our members as global leaders in Environmental Excellence and should you have any questions relating to the Green Star programme, please email Kate Bacon at firstname.lastname@example.org.
